Flights to Cyprus

Cyprus is an extremely popular Mediterranean holiday destination and very much a country of two halves. In the north of the island you will find the unspoilt beaches and less touristy locations and in the south the full on experience of resorts set up to cater for the tourist's every whim. The island is a perfect spot for families looking for sun, sea and relaxation, for those looking for a more active holiday, as well as clubbers and weekend trippers. Flights to Cyprus vary in price but are frequent, and available from a large number of UK airports

If you're looking to book a holiday to this sun-soaked island, you have plenty of options. There are flights to Paphos and Larnaca from most European airports. If you chose to fly to Larnaca, the airport is three miles south of Larnaca itself and 31 miles from Nicosia. Paphos is nine miles east of the city. Both airports are within easy reach of most of the major holiday resorts and it’s a quick transfer by coach or taxi. Because Cyprus is now such a well-loved holiday spot for UK tourists, routes from the UK are numerous and you can get there from anywhere in the country.  You can fly to Cyprus from a number of UK airports, including London Gatwick, Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Newcastle, Leeds Bradford and Belfast. In terms of carriers, again you’re pretty much spoiled for choice.  Those that now run regular flights to Larnaca and Paphos include Monarch, Aegean Air, British Airways and Easyjet.

If you're looking to book a flight to North Cyprus (the airport is Ercan), it's useful to know that there is a United Nations requirement to make a stop in Turkey en-route. Although it may sound annoying, the stopover is very short - usually only an hour - and you will stay on the aircraft for the duration.  A number of flights that are advertised to the northern part of the country, land in the south and then you need to make the journey north yourself, or it may be included in the package – it’s wise to check with the carrier first to make sure you’re going to end up near your destination if you’re not really up for an adventure along the way!
